In the war, boys who are too physically small to carry a gun are sent to the front lines of battle armed with only a whistle. Their only objective is to blow the whistle and make as much noise as possible, absorbing the first round of bullets with their bodies and acting as a human shield for the other soldiers as they fall. This war is complex and deeply rooted. It follows the ever-changing goals and atrocities of multiple rebel armies fighting for control of conflict minerals and using children as their weapon. We fight for the humanity of children who have no choice but to feign death, or face it. "We are whistleblowers for peace. We are armed with a whistle as a symbol of our protest, to raise awareness of the war in Congo and the atrocities committed there against the most helpless of individuals. To do this, we work with a rehabilitation program in the Congo which is currently working with 270 war-affected children.
