When Tiffany Saidnia, an LA native, set out to design the first season of her Tt collection in Spring of 2007, she knew exactly how to satisfy her hometown fashionistas: by combining couture with comf

ort in a collection of unique yet practical pieces that span all occasions. The line’s launch marks the culmination of her many experiences in the world of fashion, including stints with star stylist Jessica Pastor, knitwear designer Pegah Anvarian, and designer brands Joe’s Jeans and Henry Duarte. With Tt, Saidnia aspired to create a knit line of what she considered ‘luxury basics,’ clothing of designer quality to be sold at competitive prices.

The designer’s comfy, everyday tees and tanks meet the mark, giving those of Splendid and C&C California a run for their money. These essentials are a 50% supima cotton and 50% micro modal blend for a second skin feel that will prompt purchases in every style and color. But Tt’s designs go beyond this, with staple wardrobe pieces including dresses, skirts, pants, and tops that are somehow simultaneously basic and knock-out. Take, for example, the dainty and ethereal Eva print dress, which epitomized Tt’s Spring 2008 season with a vibe sophisticated yet romantic, feminine, and light. As this is LA, such spring pieces will work well into the fall, a happy fact given it would be a shame to relegate such enviable items to the back of the closet before their time. However, room should be made for fall’s designs, which signal a drastic departure in style from those of spring. Where spring’s designs were subtle, fall’s are dramatic, with a look book aesthetic evocative of Robert Palmer’s “Addicted to Love” video sexy red lips and dark eyes compliment fitted ensembles, found here not just in black but in rich colors such as olive, chocolate, fuschia, and violet.

Favorites from the current season include: the Race dress, available in two different bold color combinations the Myrna leggings, inspired by classic riding pants and embellished with knee patches and stitching details that set them leagues apart from ordinary leggings and the tiered Tiffy skirt. Additionally, the Siren, RSVP, and Gala dresses, all Holiday 2008 designs, are sure to alleviate incessant cocktail party stress by providing go-to outfits that will stun with minimal fuss.

Tt collection is available for purchase at Ron Herman, Intermix, and a host of other local boutiques. Saidnia also has plans to launch an intimates line, from which this fashion fanatic, for one, is eager to snag pieces certain to be, like all Tt, comfortable, stylish, and oh so LA.
