Think pink this month! With Breast Cancer Awareness upon us, it’s only fitting to showcase a product that gives back… and big! More than half the cost of Too Faced’s Betsy Baby eye shadow goes toward
The iridescent eye shadow duo comes in a sleek black palette with two shimmering shades of pink – one with tiny specks of glitter, the other a transparent pale pink. Have a lunch date? The shade is lovely for a natural yet glamorous look. Or, get seriously sexy cat eyes by adding a dark liner and mascara. Like every Too Faced product, the packaging teases that the “product [is] tested on celebrities, not animals.” Jokes aside, the idea behind the shadow is no laughing matter. Too Faced founder’s Jerrod Blandino created Betsy Baby after learning his close friend Betsy Olum (Sephora’s Senior Vice President of Marketing) was diagnosed with breast cancer. After surgery and three weeks of radiation treatment, Betsy survived cancer-free. In celebration of his dear friend, Jerrod vowed to bring back Betsy’s favorite discontinued Too Faced shadow, formerly called Heiress. The powerful pair worked together to develop a second color for the compact. Thus, the Betsy Baby eye shadow duo was born. Offered exclusively at Sephora, the limited edition product retails for $17 and is only available while supplies last. For every Betsy Baby purchased, Sephora, Betsy, and Too Faced will each donate $3 (for a total of $9 per a product) directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. With a good product and great cause, supplies aren’t likely to last. Get yours today – because philanthropy is always in fashion. by Lindzi Scharf 10/12/2008 |
